God Is Love!

Welcome to Gospelight.

Over my years as a Christian, which has included in-depth Bible Study, I have come to believe some things that may fly in the face of traditional Christianity. Some of the major ones on which all else is built are:

• God does not live in buildings made with human hands, but in people -- lively stones -- being built into a Holy Temple where God dwells. In this, the Church Age, God is engaged in calling people out to be part of that Temple, and in growing them up to spiritual maturity.

1Co 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

1Pe 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

• To come into a revelation of what God is building in people, one must first be born of the Spirit. (John 3:1-17) A spiritual birth is necessary; but that is just the beginning. Transformation into the image of Christ is a process carried out over time and experience, as we lay aside our sin consciousness in the Grace whereby He has set us free, and learn to live unto God.
   

• God is Love, and everything He is doing in Creation is done to transform His Creation into His very nature -- Love. It is difficult to speak of God's Love in human terms, because it is so much higher than our finite concepts. However, as we are indwelt and led by His Spirit, we will learn to Love as he Loves. Eventually His Love will cover the earth and fill all people.
   

• God is Sovereign, meaning that He is Omniscient (All-Knowing), Omnipotent (All-Powerful) and Omnipresent (everywhere at once.) He cares very deeply for His Creation, and what He desires and deems to do with it and in it can never fail! God's desires are as good as done! So when His Word says He desires or wills a thing, you can count on it coming to pass! And because He is Love, that is good news for the entire human race! All are redeemed and will be saved in Jesus Christ.
   

• To become like God, we must come to Love as He Loves. That is what it means to be transformed into the image of Christ. This transformation is a process that only the inward working of God by His Grace can achieve. We do not even begin now to understand God's Nature of Love; but we will someday, because we will be conscious of that very nature!

2Co 3:18 - But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Joh 13:34 - A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Mat 22:37-39 - Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is  like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Rom 13:8 - Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.

To Love as God Loves is all important!
But Only He Can Empower Us To Love!
